Provenance

The painting “Nature morte au crâne de bœuf” by Pablo Picasso was sold by the artist to the art dealer Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler shortly after its creation in April 1942. It can be found in his Louise Leiris Gallery in Paris from 1943 to 1946. From at least 1952 to 1965, it was part of André Lefèvre’s private collection. The Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen purchased the painting “Nature morte au crâne de bœuf” at an auction of the Lefèvre Collection by the Palais Galliera at the end of 1965 for its holdings.
