Provenance
Marcel Duchamp sold his painting “La broyeuse de chocolat” to his friend the artist Joseph Stella shortly After its creation in 1914. The work remained the property of Joseph Stella and his nephew Sergio Stella until 1972, after which it was jointly owned by Harold Diamond and Sami Tarica, but soon became the sole property of Galerie Tarica. The Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen purchased the painting “La broyeuse de chocolat” for its holdings from the gallery that same year.
