From its creation in 1921, the work “Mz 271. Kammer.” by Kurt Schwitters remained the property of the artist, who gave it to the Hamburg art salon of Maria Kunde on consignment in 1927. After Kurt Schwitters’ death in 1948, the work became the property of his son Ernst Schwitters, who sold it to Lord’s Gallery in 1962. The Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen purchased the work “Mz 271. Kammer.” from Lord’s Gallery for its holdings in 1965.
